Welcome, Sam!

As we begin a new semester at Greenhouse Studios, some new faces are joining the team! Meet Sam Chichester, one of our new  ENGR Undergraduate Research Assistants.

Over the course of the next academic year, I hope to further my knowledge of my field, work on my hobbies, and forge new connections. Now that I am reaching the second half of my college education, I will be taking more classes in my major and exploring new opportunities. For example, I am taking the cloud computing class next semester, and I intend on taking classes on machine learning in later semesters. Increased knowledge of these areas of computer science will assist me in becoming a more well-rounded developer. I also want to focus more time on my hobbies. I am passionate about many different things, including music, exercise, and the outdoors. I would like to dedicate more time going forward to these hobbies. I would also like to forge new connections with others around campus in order to build lifelong connections with those around me.

At Greenhouse Studios I am hoping to start my career by obtaining some experience working with web technologies. I think this is going to be an excellent opportunity for me to obtain some hands-on experience while working among a talented team. I am looking forward to meeting all of the people on the Greenhouse Studios team and forging relationships with each of them.

After college I am looking to begin a career as a software engineer. After some time working as a software engineer, I would like to pivot towards DevOps, since it is a leadership-oriented area that works with some really interesting technologies.

Outside of my career, I am hoping to travel as much as possible. I have ambitions to travel to all of the 50 states, and I would like to visit other countries as well. I would also like to focus on learning new things and pursuing new hobbies.
