Deirdre Nic Chárthaigh is a PhD candidate in the Department of Irish and Celtic Studies in Trinity College, the University of Dublin, where she holds a non-foundation scholarship. For her doctoral thesis she is editing an early modern Irish romance and her wider research interests include bardic poetry and the manuscript tradition in Ireland in the post-classical period. Deirdre also has a keen interest in traditional Irish music and plays both the harp and concertina.
