Assistant Professor in Residence in the Departments of Digital Media and Design
Samantha Olschanis an Assistant Professor in Residence in the Departments of Digital Media and Design at the University of Connecticut. Having worked across animation, compositing, design and visualization for television, films, and media agencies, she continues to research the future of storytelling through time-based and experiential narrative. Prior to joining UConn, Professor Olschan worked in animation, broadcast, and visual design for Animation Collective, Electric Entertainment, Fox News Channel, Kartemquin Films, Lionsgate, and ZenithOptimedia. Her work can also be seen in marketing materials for clients including 20th Century Fox, Chase, Coca-Cola, CXE, Darden, FX, Gap, Garnier, H&M, Maybelline, Nestle, Oracle, Sonic, and Stouffers. Collaborative projects include the Class of 2032 (classof2032.uconn.edu) and the Boston Children’s Hospital Interactive Wall. Recent exhibitions and screenings include the Black Maria Film & Video Festival, P.O.V. Series (PBS), The ShortList (PBS), Visionfest, Tribeca Cinemas, Bumbershoot, Seattle International Film Festival, Boston Cinema Census, Boston Underground Film Festival, Conversations at the Edge, The Gene Siskel Film Center, Marblehead Film Festival, the New Haven International Film Festival, and the Skopelos Foundation for the Arts in Greece.
