Joel Salisbury

Assistant Professor, Digital Media & Design Department


Joel Salisbury is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Digital Media and Design. Much of his research is centered around process improvements for effective User Experience Design. Additionally, he collaborates in the development of digital tools for use in health intervention, the sciences, and the humanities. A UConn alum and long-time member of the University community, Salisbury joined the Digital Media and Design faculty in fall 2013. He has completed web and mobile projects for clients such as Indeed.com, the City of Baltimore, Land Rover North America, Vera Bradley, Inc., NADA Used Car Guides, and PBS MotorWeek. Salisbury has served as a member of several technology- and marketing-related advisory groups and councils at UConn, including the Academic Technology Council, WordPress (project Aurora) Developer’s Group and Code Audit Team, Mobile Standards Committee, and the Communications and Marketing Council. Joel is also a Creative Partner at a local digital marketing agency.
